After-School Program
The After-School Program provides opportunities for students to enhance their learning beyond the regular school day. With a wide range of enriching offerings to explore, including an outdoor natural play area and climbing structure, music studio, private tutoring, art “Maker Cart”, full gym, Learning Lab, Lego room, homework room and reading corner, children are encouraged to be curious and creative as they make discoveries. Diverse activities promote social emotional learning and healthy development, as children interact and collaborate with peers. The program serves children attending Churchill Road Elementary, Franklin Sherman Elementary, Haycock Elementary, and Kent Gardens Elementary. Direct transportation is provided to the program, ensuring that students arrive safely each afternoon to build community with friends.
Preschool
Nestled in the heart of McLean the Redeemer Renaissance Preschool (formerly Redeemer Lutheran Preschool) offers a vibrant and enriching learning environment across five acres of land. The indoor space is thoughtfully designed to offer students a range of immersive and diverse learning experiences. With five classrooms and low student to staff ratios, students can enjoy the benefits of a more personalized learning environment. In addition, the preschool features a multipurpose Learning Lab, complete with a fully-stocked studio art cart, observation desks for plant science projects as well as hatching chicks and butterflies, open access to loose parts for design challenges, and a LEGO wall for 3D structure building. The Creative Curriculum, vetted by the Virginia Department of Education, is play-based with nature components and inspires students’ curiosity. At the Redeemer Renaissance Preschool children look forward to learning in a dynamic environment.
Camps
Throughout the year when FCPS has Teacher Workdays, at Redeemer Renaissance children dive into activities and topics to explore, discover, and create.
It is important for children to attend camp where they are supported by experienced and professionally trained staff as they grow and develop their social, physical, and emotional skills.
Indoor and outdoor activities and programming specifically designed to encourage creativity and curiosity is our specialty.
